Tuesday

Pinteresting Tuesday

Whoop whoop -- it is Tuesday again, and again I will join in the pinteresting Tuesday series. This time it;s a little bit inspired by some culinary fall-highlights...

Like this awesome halloween pizza ...
(Emm, I just wonder how one influences the cheese so that it is molding into propper ghost shape)

What about these deliciously and fabulously looking pears with pistaccie nut,
goat cheese and cranberries .... mmmh

Or the traditional pumpkin soup which makes up for all the summer-detox ;-)

To make sure autumn blues is not picking up too fast, a decent shopping trip is beneficial... for example at barbour...love this cardigan..

Or-- alternatively enjoy the first cold days of autumn and have a good cup of tea and listen to some lovely piano tunes...

I am sure Colin Firth wouldn't mind to pop by and play some ;-)

Have a very nice Tuesday!

Sunday

Northern Tidelands

Today has been a lovely autumn Sunday which we spend - as usual- out with the family somewhere.
This time we took a drive to the tidelands of the North Sea island of Nordstrand.

It is a peninsula and some 60 mins drive from home through the beautiful landscape of North Friesland

We wandered on the dyke and said hello to some random sheep grazing on the sides.

The weather was gentle even though the coast is known for its rough winds...

And this is how it looks like:

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!!

Love,
Svenja

Pinteresting Tuesday

My pinteresting Tuesday is all about autumn. These are the items I love for this season:

These greens are mandatory. Do I need to say more? ;-)

A must-have for the season. Hand-knitted socks. Mine are red though -- made by my wonderful Oma.

Love this arrangement .. The candle makes it already a little winterish...
Love white furniture anyhow.

Hot Chocolate ... mmmmh...!

Happy Tuesday

I just saw this on pinterest and only wanted to wish you all a lovely Tuesday and a good week.

Love,
Svenja

Monday

Blog jubilee

When I joined blogger last year I have been absolutely new in the blogsphere and did not know anything about writing, creating and hosting a blog at all.
Then I came across the idea to try it out and was quite surprised how easy it all is. Quite secure - even for beginners. Like me.

I do not know much about blogging but I found out that it is fun and helps order my mind chaos a little bit.

By now I really love to take time and create a small post, think about new topics, align it with nice pics and read along other bloggers' stories.

Last weekend I wrote my 100th post and I thought it's time to say thanks to all of you who are visiting my small space of creativity on the web, no matter if you came by coincidence or as a more frequent guest.

I am more than amazed that I had visitors from every part of the world. Wow!!

Thank you so much!!

I am also super delighted about your comments -- please keep them coming, they make me happy!

Hope to see you again very soon!!

Have a very nice Monday,

Happy Monday

Today I found this on the wonderful world wide web.

And loved it.

And thought it is worth a share.

Art for art's sake

THANK YOU for living in the 21st century!!
I just discovered something new (woah, at least to me) and that is the Google art project. It is "an online platform through which the public can access high-resolution images of artwork housed in the initiative's partner museums". Woohoo - these are the days I enjoy the most about social media. Ha! Now I sit in my small worlds-apart village and can look at the most amazing art works - just when I want.
Google Art works allows you to virtually walk through the museums (using -- tadaaaa google street view) and even to collect your own galleries. According to wikipedia they have now partnerships with 151 institutes, from 40 different countries and "expose" 32.000 artworks.
You can search for artists, artworks, galleries and zoom into the works if you want to have a closer look.
I like.

OK, I am off now - to London ;-)

Thursday

Cool running

Uhhh, I am so excited because today is a revolutionary day in my running career. I bought new running shoes. Woohoo, I seriously cannot wait until tomorrow so that I can try them out. It was definitely not an easy choice, but in the end I decided for the asics gel fuji attack, a trail running shoe in awesome colours (I am a girl, colour counts!!).

So, this is it. My new baby.

It took me really long to take this step as I was absolutely in love with my old asics gel - the relationship lasted (I am ashamed to say) 9 years. And I also assume they caused some small injury at my hip due to erosion of absorbability.
Anyways, all my fellow running friends will perhaps of course shout at me, wave their hands in misbelief or question my ratio.
Well, I have to say - in my defense, that I had some irregular training periods in between when I was more dedicated to horseback riding. But now -- finito.

Now, it will be all different. I will be running in my new shoes! Yay!!
Next goal: half-marathon!

What is your favourite shoe?

Happy running!

Love,
Svenja

!!UPDATE!!

It has now been some four weeks since I bought this shoe and I must say it was worth it. After some smaller surprises of burning soles my feet got used to the shoe quite quickly and I made my first 10 km after 5 smaller training units. I also completed my so-far longest run of almost 20 km with those shoes -- which eventually convinced me to keep them (Over here you have a two week trial period. In case you cannot get used to the shoe, for whatever reason, you may bring it back to the shop and either ask your money back or swap it for a better fitting pair.).
I usually train in the forest where the ground is quite stoney and hilly. Perfect for the Asics gel fuji attack as they seem to feel most comfortable in these surroundings. I also sometimes used them on roads - which works fine as well -- but due to the texture of the sole they won't last too long if I would only work out on roads. They are for cross country.
